Ghajini ..reviewd
Forget Rajini ...we have our own Ghajini, oops the catch here is the name of the Bad boy in the film not the hero. I never remember the villain of a film been given such a undue publicity, even before the movie started even i thought this is the too cool name of the hero (I obviously missed the tattoo on Aamir khan).
Anyways coming back to the point, seeing Ghajini was a desperate move to spice up my boring holidays, n trust me it was not a bad move at all. And SPICE is the word for the film. Enough of seeing perfectionist films where everything happened as it should. Every character acted to it merit. I don’t remember when last time i watched a film within days of its release and without at least 2 peer review. At times you should watch films as tribute to the effort which people have taken in making the film. With people like Aamir khan in driver's seat you won’t get disappointed either.
Thank fully I have neither seen the original Tamil version, not the classy Memento. So it’s a perfect context to enjoy the three long hour and appreciate it. Yes I did appreciate the film. Where the good guy win over the stereotype ugly bad guy. He hit and knocked all bad guys in the due course. He took revenge, showed bunch of raw super powers against laws of gravity and hold on also enacted perfect lover boy too. It all took me down to the memory lanes of the school days, and 80/90's film. Nostalgic huh...
The film completely stands on the mighty shoulder of the hero. After all he has worked hard to shape it up for the occasion. At times there is a overdose of the 6/8 pack abs though, but you can chose to overlook it. The bollywood debutant Asin also should take my credits for doing a good job. I am a bit disappointed with the hype and mismatched screen presence of Jiah Khan. Regarding other aspects, AR Rehman had a bit tame score. But its okay , even Sachin doesn’t score a ton every time. Another thing that I can’t help ignoring is the superb Van Husen Get up for Mr Sanjay Singhania, Our beloved hero.
Now the final verdict Ghajini brings back the era of action Packed Masala Hindi films, but in a stylish way. Within the over dose of raw violence you will find some perfect romance, relatively decent storyline, excitement and above all promising acting by the main characters. So what more you want? Just a word of caution it’s not a classy film, so don’t go expecting any TZP or DCH. There is always a room for Masala Bollywood films. Right?
PS: Much of my thoughts are biased by the fact that I watch it in a perfect surrounding.
Rex > Morning Show > > Rs 90/- > Single Screen > Back Stall > High decibel cheer when bad guy get hit > Blows of Whistle when Aamir/Jiah enters the screen
Over all Verdict

where am i?
after ages. not that i ve stopped feeling , its mainly the internet policy at my work place that prohibits any activity with a mail id sign in using their computer resources.
okey start with the topis......beep beep beep
it was a alert call in the outlook express (the otherwise alien MS programme ). i am heading for the first offcial meeting read KT(knowledge tranfer). after 4 weeks of sitting at the bench (that is the name for not doing any prodductive work ) , i am bored like hell and being bugged by arbit people with mind f@#king touch up works. so obviously i was very excited to strat on my own project and make my dent on this earth.
hardly did i know where am i heading for! after intial phases of smiles, introductions and coffee the meeting landed to the core of the project. out of 9 people in the room each one was a subject expert and they connected with each other . the discussion was very friendly and they were talking strategy, actions, user, coding, technology etc etc. i was waiting desparately to be a part of the talk and say some things....but i just waited waited and waited . with a stupid smile on a face and visible nods every now and then, i pretended to understand everything and tried to show that i dont talk much.never in my life i felt so stupid. the meeting was so depressing that i started questioning my abilities ............
in those time of low self belief , the great Stefan Segmister's quote came to my resque."if you are a designer then design, if you are a manager then manage"....................perfect it is and to my solace. large organizations like this will involve so many diverse people and i am here to do work in my own domain.thank god my organisation recognises my expertise and i guess i still can make a dent on this earth.....

Refreshing architecture...right here in India!
i never liked liked what i see all around me in the name of architecture. the disliking just increased a lot after NID made me a little sensitive about life n design. i remeber my B.Arch thesis project of Chattisgarh Assembly house. one of the jury found it too futuristic, but then what are these prominent state buildings are meant to be ? futuristic, inspiring the people of the state or inward looking, rooted to the culture of the land? an optimal blend of both may be.......the thoughts remained then...unanswered...
Today when i saw the Tamilnadu's proposed assembly house concept by GMP architect, Germany. it answered most of my quest. on the first instance it just appears to be an contextual and superb design by the architect. The official press release by the architect regarding the design concept also is quite simple yet impressive. i m looking forward to find more about the project and experience the building may be when its done in 2010.
fine more about the project by fallowing is link.

amazing kindle!
Probably after ipod i consider this a break through product. Named as "Amazon Kindle ", the company defines it as a wireless reading device.A smart looking small hand held device through which one can read books, magazines in a more realistic manner than a pdf document . i think the designer is more honest to the core idea of reading a book rather tan simplifying or stripping a laptop.
i am so tempted to describe the product novelty, but its better fallow the official kindle page and watch the video there. @ 399$ a piece, it might sound a bit higher priced , but then good things always come for a price and it saves so many trees in the long run.
makes sense to me!!

Save resources....a typographers way!
"April 1, 2007 — FSI FontShop International proudly announces FF Mt, Erik Spiekermann's most economical typeface ever. Employing obscure but powerful techniques like vwl mmssn and cap reduction, FF Mt uses up to 50% less paper, screen, and wall space than other text faces without a single condensed letter."

In the era of Pseudo-activism, where souls cry aloud for trivial causes and chose to be numb for the right one, Erik Spikerman's FF mt™ is certainly a solid step to save Earth's resources. anyways the language is already been considerably tweaked with the SMS ans IM lingo around us.... so why not a typeface for it.

*** DIP
1. how well did your research lead to or transformed into your design process.
2. how passionate you are about the project. may be a little intangible or subjective to judge but ya if you are ...its shows in the project.
3. do your document is a story ,telling the reader (who ever it may be) about what, how , when things happened in the project?
over these days i ve been hearing to all my faculties , students about all the expectations , crib , frustration about the diploma project at NID. but never ve i come across such clear, simple understanding of it...

the GREEN surprise!
June 2003
since the day i first time landed in Delhi back 2003 i ve been an avid user of public transport. more than anything or a try to be responsible citizen it was the cheapest option for me. public transport ie. the broken buses packed with rude people ready to eat you up every now & then! to my luck the bus i used to take (route 764), standing with both the legs were luxury....... the daily 2 hours of travel really tested my patience and my mental break off point went quite high! the most frequent thought lingering in my mind was hw long these systems will sustain.....
Jan2008
the same roads of Delhi welcomed me with these eye candy green DTC buses. low floored, high capacity, huge glass windows, 2 levels of sitting , runs smooth and most importantly runs on CNG so reduced pollution as well. when the whole India went mad bout tata's small wonder NANO, i fall in love with these huge tata buses named MARCOPOLO!
believe me if u ever get a chance take a ride of it ......u wont regret leaving ur car back home!!!
