ah...i loved the honesty.

Back to design!

Browsing through arbit blog came across this packaged drinking brand called "Tap'D NY". what is great about the brand is the honesty in which they proclaim its Purified NY tap water.Ah that sense of pride of being New Yorker. Absolutely simple, crisp and direct piece of message.Equally direct is the disclaimer/tag line No Glaciers were harmed making this water

Read more about them at their site, which seem like a blog roll of the good name they acquired in the media circle.

If you want more ,here are some more packaging design examples (to copy).

Go Chase you Dreams!

Life doesn't really always take you to the desired places. You hope for things, you prey for things, you see dreams for things....and then u suddenly realise u has landed in a place which is no way nearer to the things u ever hoped or wished. But then there is an uneasy comfort and peace in this place. You stay glued to this place. Enjoy the uneasy calmness, kill your dreams, sulk, slog, smile and perish. So many of these tombstones, I see all around. Pretending people with artificial smiles and black hole inside.

Then there are people who jump to the turbulent river ahead, try to swim, get drifted by the current, may get drown. Some might also manage to cross it and reach the desired land. Who knows? I don’t know how it feels to jump into the uncertainty from the shore. How might it feel to win or loose after you jumped. All I know is there must be a satisfaction. Satisfaction that I chased my dreamed.

Yesterday while giving VD the emotional farewell, these are few thoughts that lingered. Dude u really has taken a great jump .......now swim across and reach where you dreamed to be. My wishes are with you.

i Scored 68%!

I don’t remember when last time i took objective type test. Probably in 2005 GATE exam. As I am absolutely jobless today and i am one of those who is yet to obtain one 4 wheeler driving license, out of curiosity I have landed in Karnataka Govt's transport Dept website. The site , a typical showcase of NIC(National Informatics Centre) is surprisingly loaded with relevant information.

And the most interesting is the sample test link for the first timers like me. i took the test with a 68% score (94 0ut of 137 correct) which i feel is not so bad score to get through, i hope the government official out there also feels the same.

Anyways over all its a great initiative by the government to provide such relevant information in the public domain. At least it sensitizes one to the traffic rules.

let me know how much did u score and if u beat me in that?

LUCK BY CHANCE, happy by choice!

I am happy because I chose it!

Yes that’s the one liner that the film ends with. Yes this is the line that still resonates with me, hours after the film.

Seeing the film was a half hearted call. May be I booked the tickets because there was nothing else to do. Though I was a fan of Frahan Akhtar, I was utterly disappointed last time when he failed to Rock on .Frankly speaking I was quite skeptical about this one. There is no hero (I am yet to consider Farhan to be one), there are lots of other heroes (the trailer showed every damn face, and I don’t want an OSO again). The things that worked for it may be the looks (Yay! Graphic design rocks) and Isha Sharvani (I ve hots for her since the days of “Kisna”).

Anyways as u ve paid the money in advance you have to show up for it! The film starts, with an impressive title sequence on the unsung heroes behind the film sets, impressive, but not original.  This is what Farhan is capable of, so no points for that. Slowly the story unfolds, characters are starting building up, and plot is all set for yet another emotional soup. Like a typical Frahan Akhtar film it’s had that bunch of friends and share of human emotions and the tasteful portray of relationship. But this time there is the flavor of Bollywood, opps! Hindi Film Industry.

Half way down the films I was kept wondering is it getting stereotype? Yet another tale of Film stars and Star kids. The typical portray of stardom where few get fighting for it and bunch of other born with silver spoon in their mouth. So where is this tale heading for? Should I start mourning for the waste of my time and money???

Hold on, the story is not over yet! Yes the story is not over till the last few minutes. All the skepticism I developed in the due course did end amicably. The film quite poised for a forgettable and stereotype end, quite nicely unfolded to a meaningful turn. Most of the plot and character was stereotype but not the ending. It was an uncommon one for which I must congratulate writer/director Zoya Akhtar. In fact the film breaks conventions and celebrated human values rather than celebrating stars and stardom. Particularly liked fact that it didn’t end making Vikram Jaisingh (Farhan Akhtar) a hero in real life.

Over all, it’s good film to watch with powerful performance by almost all. Frahan did a far better job this time and quite suited to the selfish brat. Konkana Sen was as usual superb. Rishi, Dimple, Juhi and of course Isha will get claps for their work. And for the bunch of the real Stars, Zoya has made justice to most of them with their roles in the film. They came in the right place, for right amount of time and appeared true to their respective images. And if you are willing to listen to St. Saharukh, he made a good point too “when you are someone, don’t forget the people who were close to you when you were no one”. Point taken Sir!

So here is the final verdict the film is worth watching. And if you are an emotional fool like me, u ll like it even more and take down few lines back home.

Overall film:«««««

Thumbs up to: Zoya, Konkana ,Farhan, Rishi, Juhi, Isha, Shiv kar(graphic designer)

Thumbs down : Kareena, Hritik, Shankar Eshhan Loy except for the one song
